Cleaner CV example

Cleaner CVs should show the setting, cleaning tasks and safe working practices. This fictional office-cleaning example uses concrete work-history lines rather than unsupported claims about perfect inspection scores.

Fictional example. Names, employers and details are made up for illustration.

Fictional CV: contact details and profile

Example applicant · Leeds · [your phone] · [your email]. Contact details are placeholders, not a real person's information.

Cleaner with experience maintaining office and washroom areas to site schedules. Used to following product instructions, recording completed checks and reporting hazards. Seeking a cleaning role where careful routines and reliable handovers are valued.

Work experience

Cleaner — Example Office Services · June 2023 – August 2025

The dates and employer below are fictional. Use your own work history, and use present tense only for duties you still perform.

  • Cleaned office floors, desks and shared areas according to the agreed schedule.
  • Replenished washroom supplies and recorded completed checks.
  • Used cleaning products according to instructions and stored them safely.
  • Placed warning signs during wet-floor cleaning and reported maintenance concerns.

Skills and training

Training: site cleaning-product induction, June 2023. No specialist machine or hazardous-material qualification is claimed.

Education: Example Secondary School, completed June 2021. Replace this with your own relevant education, or omit education if it does not help your application. Do not copy fictional training into your CV.

  • Routine cleaning
  • Product safety awareness
  • Time management
  • Hazard reporting

Why this wording is useful for this role

Naming the setting helps distinguish routine office cleaning from specialist healthcare or industrial work. The example shows safe product handling without suggesting the applicant wrote risk assessments or managed a whole contract.

If you used a floor machine, list the equipment only when you were trained and authorised. Working safely with cleaning products does not make you qualified for every hazardous-material task. For domestic work, explain the kind of work without sharing customers' addresses.

Check before using the example

This is a writing example, not a claim about a real applicant or a promise of interviews. Your CV must reflect your own tasks, dates and qualifications.

  • State the actual cleaning environment.
  • Only include machine operation if you performed it safely with authorisation.
  • Avoid fictional inspection ratings or customer testimonials.
  • Do not publish client addresses or security information.
